Just An Opinion -> If In Late 90s OR Early/Mid 00, You Had Harvested / Scrapped / Mined DATA On The NET, The Way Today’s Few AI OR Web Search Companies Did; Then Honestly, Even A Search Notice Might’ve Been Issued Against You By The Likes Of Interpol, For Doing Such Acts!

 

Every second person is into AI today, diluting the whole context and concept, why and for what, AI was initially invented at the first place! BTW, how many are in Quantum Computing? Or deriving more powerful Chips? Hardly few! Because it’s difficult, and as in it, Free scrapping of DATA isn’t involved!

What was once done at the Retail Store inside, or, at the entrance of any MALL back then; now been executed on/by the APPs or Web Portals! But at least in the Former case, it was restricted to purchase experience(s) only!

Taking few leaves or flowers from a tree, plucking some fruits from it, once in a while, is of course acceptable and allowed! BUT, harvesting the entire tree, its fruits, flowers, and that too -> UNTIL Next Season, is altogether a different story! There was this quote in the mid-00, that DATA would be the New Gold one day! Now, how many governments / organizations would allow -> Open Gold, or, Museum Heists (IF DATA == GOLD)? None! So why in case of DATA alone?

The value of Gold fluctuates, BUT, that of DATA, its value exponentially increased, as more and more services, addons, third party services, extensions etc.; can be attached to any Individual’s Experiences, Choices, and Preferences; for further exponential growth!

And wait! The Media also made it look like Mandatory vide Marketing! For example -> A LinkedIn Profile in Today’s World became essential, more than any other Official Website disclosing necessary DATA or Information about An Individual! Why? Because of the Halo effect created by the Media!  

You said, with a Twitter / X account, one can reach to anyone sharing their grievances! Please let me know, how many of such Complaints were genuine, or, authentic, or urgent, or necessary, and above all, how many were resolved or rejected! Or how many suggestions were implemented, or for genuine reasons, disavowed? Or how many names were mentioned in such implementations! YouTube was another level of Critics Laundering! So, if you’re Howling against a particular person or nation or land; then the entire region or people, who dislike that particular leader or nation or land against whom videos are being uploaded, would start following those Critics! Now, Number of Clicks or Likes or Dislikes are then Converted into -> Cash! But, did it achieve anything? Except, going back in time of segregated societies!

From some Search Engines, to, AI companies, to, their Replicas; they mined DATA, as if they owned the Entire NET, and if, we, by merely using the WEB, owe them everything! DUH!

So, think about it! Was DATA Scrapped reasonably & meaningfully? Nope! And, this is the reason why most of AI Companies, in a much-awaited Market Correction; would fall eventually!
